The Centerville Business Association was founded in 2007 with the purpose of organizing the local businesses to help increase the security in the Centerville area. The idea was to develop a relationship with the Gwinnett County Police Department to bring more police presence into the area. The Police Department also welcomes this partnership and since the CBA's inception, the two have worked together along with other concerned parties to continue this effort. The Centerville Business Association has employed a private security company to offer their members additional membership funded patrols. The CBA also works closely with elected officials, schools, community groups, and HOAs to stay on top of the local issues and provide feedback from the community.
The membership is open to all local businesses, retail or home-based. There are bi-monthly meetings at Shane's Rib Shack, open to the business community and concerned citizens.
A breakfast buffet is served and door prizes are awarded. Visitors may come free the first visit then pay $5.00 thereafter which helps support the CBA various charitable expenses.
